About the spinster Mokosh

Welcome to the ‘A Spinsters Life For Me‘ blog.
This is a virtual space for me to splurge anything and everything related to fibre arts; reviews of different fibres, spinning fibres, crochet, knitting, naalbinding, history of fibre arts, tools of the trade and etc. I would also like to cover historical and cultural facts of spinning and related topics in this blog as the fibre arts have been intrinsically linked with human survival, civilisations and creativity.
Although, there will probably be posts related to social issues, general Indo-European/Celtic/Slavic/Norse mythology and history because these things generally interest me but I doubt I would post about these things often enough to warrant a dedicated blog to them.
I am a novice of fibre arts but I have been enjoying the learning and challenges of this hobby and hope to share what I have discovered along the way, as well as perhaps chitter-chatter with other like-minded people to learn more about this craft.
Mokosh is obviously not my real name. Mokosh is a Slavic goddess who spins the thread of life, among other things, which I will cover at a later time.
I also hope to reclaim the term ‘spinster’ in this blog to its rightful place as term of reference of a person who has the skill of spinning and related fibre arts, instead of  it being used as a derogatory term towards a woman in today’s society.
Also, I love cats.. and what sort of spinster does not have a feline? ;)
The Spinsters cat, Mystic.
